In this role

About us

Tradesyncer is a trade copier platform for futures prop traders: one execution mirrored across multiple accounts and brokers in real time, where a single missed fill or mis-sized bracket costs users real money. Hyperprop is our B2B SaaS platform for proprietary trading firms, powering their operations end to end.

Both products sit directly in the money path. Reliability is not a feature for us — it is the product. That is why we are hiring someone whose entire job is making sure nothing broken ever reaches production.

The role

You will own the testing process at Tradesyncer, with scope to extend into Hyperprop. You are the guardian of every release: nothing ships until you have proven it works — not just as software, but as trading software under realistic market conditions.

Today, testing is distributed across engineers shipping their own code. Your job is to turn that into a system: automated test suites, clear release gates, reproducible trading scenarios, and a culture where “did QA sign off?” has a definite answer. You will be the single person accountable when we ask “is this safe to ship?”

This is a hands-on role. You write the automation yourself, you run the edge cases yourself, and you have the authority to block a release.

What you will do

  • Own the end-to-end testing process: test strategy, coverage, tooling, and release sign-off for Tradesyncer (and over time Hyperprop)
  • Build and maintain automated test suites — API, integration, regression, and end-to-end — that run on every release candidate
  • Design realistic trading test scenarios: multi-account copying, bracket/OCO orders, partial fills, slippage, disconnects, broker-specific quirks, and high-volatility conditions (news events, session opens)
  • Define and enforce release gates: no code reaches production without passing your checks
  • Manually stress-test new features the way a demanding trader would, before any customer sees them
  • Own the ticket queue: reproduce every reported bug in our ticketing system and confirm or deny it, filtering what actually needs dev work — nothing reaches a developer without your approval — then test the fixes before they ship
  • Track quality metrics (escaped bugs, regression rate, time-to-verify) and report on them
  • Work daily with engineering to make code testable and with support to close the loop on production issues

What you bring

  • 3+ years in software QA, test automation, or a software engineering role with strong testing ownership, ideally at a SaaS company
  • Scripting skills: you can build automation from scratch in Python or JavaScript/TypeScript and use frameworks like Playwright, Cypress, or pytest
  • AI-driven by default: you use AI tools daily to write test automation, analyze logs, and work the ticket queue — and you actively look for ways to let AI multiply your output
  • Experience testing APIs, WebSocket/real-time systems, and integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines
  • Real trading experience with futures — you have traded funded or evaluation accounts at prop firms, or equivalent hands-on market experience
  • Fluency in trading mechanics: order types (market, limit, stop, bracket, OCO), position sizing, fills, slippage, margin, and contract specs — you spot when a fill “looks wrong” without being told
  • Familiarity with the futures prop ecosystem and its platforms and data/execution stacks (e.g. Tradovate, Rithmic, NinjaTrader, TradingView)
  • A guardian mindset: methodical, skeptical of “it works on my machine,” and comfortable saying no to shipping under pressure
  • Strong written English; you document what you test and why

Nice to have

  • Experience QA-ing trading, fintech, or other systems where bugs have direct financial impact
  • Load and performance testing experience (latency measurement, concurrency, order throughput)
  • Hands-on experience with broker or market-data APIs (Rithmic, Tradovate, CQG, or similar)
  • Experience standing up a QA function from scratch at a startup
  • Familiarity with monitoring/observability tooling to catch issues in production, not just before it

Who thrives here

You take quality personally and are not satisfied until a bug is understood, fixed, and verified. Your trading background means you know exactly what a copier or a prop-firm platform is not allowed to get wrong. You want ownership, not a ticket queue: you will define how testing works here, and releases will carry your name.

How to apply

Send a short note with your trading background (markets, firms, platforms), an example of test automation you built (repo, write-up, or description), and your availability. A bug you are proud of catching is worth more to us than a formal cover letter.
